Simon Lamb - Headmaster of King's College
King's College has a role of 1,100 students this year, over 100 academic staff and 80 support staff. The School offers 48 senior subject options for students to choose from and has over 60 sporting codes on offer. Class sizes range from 15 to 22 students.
King's College moved to it's current site in Otahuhu in 1922. It is a traditional English based School with solid values. The vision of King's is to provide excellence in best all round education enabling students to flourish in a dynamic world.
Simon outlined the Master Property Plan for development of the College which includes:
Replacementof the existing music centre with a Performing Arts Centre.
Strengthening and improvement of the Dining Hall,
The cost of the project is $50 million. Close to half of this has already been raised.
The Chapel is the heart of the College and will remain the same.
