MONARCHIES - NEW ZEALAND Dr Sean Palmer, standing in for his protegee Caleb Watson, gave us a fascinating overview of the World's monarchies - the number of them as compared to the alternatives, democracies and dictatorships.
Good to have these comparatives and to way up the alternatives particularly in the light of the recent "popular" media coverage of the British Royal Family. Food for thought and a rather timely reminder that what we have isn't so bad after all.
CITY MISSION COLLECTION Saturday 4 December at New World Supermarket, Remuera - Niel Ewart has arranged a roster of collectors through the day from 9.30 am. A wonderfully important project, sadly needed in these difficult times. Huge thanks to Niel for organising all aspects of this collection and also to Sam Cockroft, owner of New World Remuera, for allowing us to collect on his doorstep!

Auckland City Mission – Christmas gifts for children. Given the rise in the cost of living during the last twelve months this year more than ever families will struggle to buy gifts for their children. We can help as we have for a number of years now by donating gifts. The suggestion is that the gifts come unwrapped and are in the $15 to $20 dollar range. There are still containers of lego style bricks available these can be gifted at $20. a container. Gifts can be brought on Monday evenings and will be taken to the Mission after our Christmas dinner event.
