President Iain Valentine and his grandsons on Ohinerau

Last Meeting - Monday 12th May, 2025

Keynote Speaker: Natalie Wright, Manager, Remuera Business Assn. Over the last 5 years Natalie has spearheaded the growth and development of the business community that is the Remuera Shopping Centre. In a captivating address she outlined the various efforts that have been made to make the Centre a vibrant, safe, and prosperous environment.

She covered Security Cameras (lots of them!), Olives Trees and Pots, Fascia upgrade to identify each shop in a consistent livery (A “touch of class”!), Fairy Tree lights (At night time Remuera is truly lit up beautifully all year round), Economic Development (only three retail spaces available), Clonbern Road car parking (soon to be moved to 2 hours free, with number plate recognition to control & levy fines).

The RBA has made good progress in the last few years, and that is very much due to the Natalie’s drive and determination to improve and achieve. In conclusion she said: “This coming year the focus beyond working with landlords, will be on continuing to improve the streetscape to make Remuera a pleasant and visual place to be, to keep running with short marketing activations such as online promos to build our social media following and long-term activations in marketing to continue to build brand awareness. We will always seek opportunities to improve on our car parking and continually upgrade our security measures”.

Next Meeting: Monday 19th May, 2025 at the Bowling Club:

Keynote Speaker: Terrena Grifiths “The Chip Packet Project” “We are all volunteers. Together making something out of nothing, for those that have nothing” “There are 102,000 Kiwis (according to StatsNZ) living on the street, living in cars or garages right now in New Zealand that are IN NEED of a warm night’s sleep. Our thermal survival blankets have proved to make a difference and we need your help to get these blankets made ad out the door”
