Ross Clark -Ports Of Auckland
Ross Clark was born in Invercargill (he doesn’t know Brian Burke)
He is  a top performing and internationally experienced General Manager as well as a qualified Master Mariner within the Ports and Container Terminals sector. Since 2015 when he joined Ports of Auckland as Terminal Operations Manager Ross has been involved in the implementation of  new automated systems designed to improve the capacity at the Port of Auckland.

Ross gave a great insight into the how and why and benefits the changes have made. He showed a very entertaining You Tube video made by Tom Scott which showcases the changes.

The Port of Auckland was already partially automated and the new changes mean they will be able to increase and manage the capacity more efficiently as well as eliminating the loss of containers on the wharf.

Ross explained that the Port will still have a manual operation however,  the interaction with the manual and the auto system  is a first in the world.

The’Go Live target’ is February 2020.

Peter Salmon thanked Ross for his informative presentation and his ability to bring 'life' to the containers on the wharf!
