Quack, quack - Rotary Remuera is a part of the Great Auckland Duck Race, Sunday 25 November 2018.
Picture this…Thousands of rubber ducks racing through the rapids at Vector Wero Whitewater Park. Race divisions will include: Schools, Businesses and General public.
Another family-friendly festival and fundraiser; 2017 saw a fun and successful event and our club is gearing up with Rotary Manurewa-Takinini and event sponsors, to make it bigger and better for 2018.
Working together to raise money for the Life Education Trust (and other great charities) this will be a great opportunity for communities to come together and support the important work the Trust does – educating and empowering children to make healthy choices for full and healthy lives.
Why get involved with Great Auckland Duck Race?
• Life Education has been active in NZ for 30 years, with their well-known and loved mascot, Harold the Giraffe;
• Life Education Mobile Classrooms visit NZ schools to teach: Food and nutrition, Human Biology, Relationships, Community, Identity, Resilience, Substances (intermediate school students only); all lessons are taught by fully qualified and experienced teachers;
• 41,000 children aged 5-13 years, in over 130 schools (Counties Manukau, Ponsonby and Eden Roskill) were taught by Life Education via LET mobile classrooms in 2016;
• Funds go towards another mobile classroom for Life Education so they can deliver more lessons to more schools;
• Funds also go to the Rotary Clubs of Manurewa-Takanini and Remuera, for the local charities they support.
Spread the word and put the event in your diary with friends, family, employees and their families
