The 277 Development in Newmarket
Sean is the Project Manager of 277. Scentre Group are the owner of Westfield. This project has an estimated cost of $790 million and is their biggest build for New Zealand and Australia. Scentre Group own 39 Westfield entres in Australia and New Zealand. This Project is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2019. There will be multiple sites over 4.5 hectares with 88,150 sq metres of retail space, 230 specialty stores, cinemas and rooftop dining. There will be a new format for Countdown and Farmers. The building at 309 Broadway will be five levels and have a rooftop dining precinct which will feature contemporary cuisine. A pedestrian bridge will link 309 Broadway to 277 Broadway.
Morrow Street will have a new set of traffic lights and there will be a major upgrade at Gillies Ave.
Community will be at the heart of the new Westfield in Newmarket aiming to reflect the community we know and love. On completion, there will be 2,800 car parks between the two buildings.
